Peter Coals: The Anti-poaching Operation

  • Schlich Lecture Theatre, Department of Plant Sciences South Parks Road Oxford, OX1 3RB (map)

Our first talk of the year with WildCRU researcher Peter Coals!

Wildlife crime and illegal trade poses a major threat to many of the world’s most iconic species. Countering these threats has rapidly risen to the top of many conservation and public agendas. Amongst the range of responses to wildlife crime, few prove as emotive, or divisive, as anti-poaching. This talk draws on personal experience of an anti-poaching officer and body-guard to explore the challenges, successes, and failures of modern wildlife security.
